Second email Ollie -> Orion
 Hey Orion,
Thanks for your swift reply. Sorry for the group email, I had intended on
getting in contact post-Station House, but have been quite busy with finding
work, projects, and trying to sort my life out!
To answer your questions…
1. I am well thank you.
2. The way I see the event happening… (although all this depends on the
kind of proposals we recieve)
- Each performer/performance group will be allocated a suitable space within
the gallery (to be decided by both artist(s) and myself and Liat).
- Performances will happen one after the other, with a slight over lap so as
to keep the audience moving around the space, and not all in one place at
once.
- It is recommended that performances should be no more than 10mins,
(although again we are open to suggestions)
- We are also open to durational performances that may take place throughout
the event in one space or throughout the space.
- The evening will most likely have an interval to allow for new acts to set
up.
3. The audience will be free to roam around the space. There will be a few
tables and chairs near to the bar area only. Otherwise it is hoped that the
audience will follow the course of events as new acts begin/finish. As I
mentioned above there will be a slight overlap between performance to keep
the audience spread out.
4. This perhaps is a more ambiguous answer. We have specifically avoided
making this event thematic. We don’t want to restrict artists, we want to
showcase a varitey of performative artistic expressions in a free and
relaxed atmosphere. Its a space for experimentation after all…
5. I have attached a copy of the floor plan of the gallery. There is a
ground floor and a basment. The basement has some really interesting spaces
and alcoves, and is all painted white, from floor to ceiling. A very
intimate and impressive space indeed. The ground floor is horse shoe shaped,
with a small bar in the centre, a raised dais behind the bar (about 1 metre
high) and the whole space is surrounded by windows onto the street outside.Â
We are open to all ideas about using the space in new and innovative ways.

Hi
this is the email Ollie sent to me, I don’t know if this is in the right place, im not good with these forum things.
About FWD:CULT - there is no funding unfortunately. This is a new event
being organised by myself and a friend. We have struck up a good deal
with
this small gallery and hope to use the space on a monthly basis to
promote
new performance based works. The emphasis is on organic and simple
works
with little clutter, and which also have swift get-in and get-out
times, so
we can fit in a wide variety of acts during the evenings proceedings.
We
don’t want people spending loads of money on a 5/10 minute performance.
Perhaps you already have a video or performance work that you could
show?
Do let me know your thoughts, and also if you need any more info about
the
event/space etc.

Hi Vic,
Yes here is great for this. Once you get the hang of the site new posts and comments are quite easy to find, by checking the right hand collumn of the ‘dashboard’, that’s the first page you get to after you login. Alternatively, if you ’subscribe’ to any of the posts, you get a notification of new posts sent to your e-mail. Tomas has set me up so I get automatically notified of all new posts.
Apparently Ollie isn’t a part of FWDCULT any more I don’t know if they had some sort of bust up or what.. I should send him an email maybe. The event is still going ahead. we made alot of progress on Saturday, but on reflection, we need to do alot more work.
Do you still wish to be involved in the event?
If so, What is your availability this week (what days/evenings?)
I shall be meeting some people this evening (Tuesday), and tomorrow evening (…Wednesday). If you were to come earlier I can try to explain the ideas so far. You’d really need to be weel aquainted with the proposals from the other artists as well.
I’ll email you this and post it on pP.net, as I know you’re not used to the website yet. if you can reply here that’s easier for me, or otherwise ring me on 07799445488
- Oh, p.s., I hope you didn’t mind the little joke on your personal web-page!
