The YouTube Thing
protoPLAY curated a programme of videos selected on YouTube. We approached YouTube as a gigantic reservoir for images and information, and the selection process as a linguistic act. Each video formed a sentence fragment, which has a meaning on its own, but also interestingly that belongs to a chain of signifier and signified, to eventually create a new entity.
